Overview
Introducing a new staking experience
Somnia is a Web3 blockchain developing a new staking technology. I created a 30-second announcement designed to introduce the project and build excitement around the new functionality. I had full creative direction throughout the project, handling the design, storyboarding, animation, editing, and sound design.
Problem
The challenge was to communicate a technical blockchain concept in a way that felt visually engaging rather than overly technical. The video needed to create momentum quickly, establish a strong visual identity, and communicate the idea of staking through motion without relying on lengthy explanations.
Solution
I built the piece around a combination of 3D compositions, fast-paced editing, and kinetic typography. The animation uses constant movement and visual transitions to maintain momentum while guiding the viewer through the announcement. I developed the creative direction from scratch and handled the full production, including design, storyboarding, animation, editing, and sound design. The final piece received very positive feedback from the Somnia team, with only minor revisions required due to initial communication differences.
